Fulfill Your Ministry

What is your ministry?
Have you ever truly thought about it?
What is the passion and talent that God has specifically placed in YOU.
What are you specifically called to do with your life?

These are questions that I think everyone should ask themselves to live a purpose filled life.
Now notice that I didn't say 'purposeful'...I said 'purpose filled'. I think every single persons life has purpose and therefore they are purposeful. That persons life may have the purpose of raising their kids, or getting their doctorate. But to be purpose filled I truly believe that that person needs to be filled with something other than themselves. I am talking about the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you He gives you a gift. Your own little special gift that you are to use to further His kingdom. When you receive this gift, you are suddenly filled with a purpose...purpose filled.

Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving. There are many ways in which God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work in and through all of us who are his. The Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church.
To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; someone else may be especially good at studying and teaching, and this is his gift from the same Spirit. He gives special faith to another, and to someone else the power to heal the sick. 10 He gives power for doing miracles to some, and to others power to prophesy and preach. He gives someone else the power to know whether evil spirits are speaking through those who claim to be giving God’s messages—or whether it is really the Spirit of God who is speaking. Still another person is able to speak in languages he never learned; and others, who do not know the language either, are given power to understand what he is saying. 11 It is the same and only Holy Spirit who gives all these gifts and powers, deciding which each one of us should have.
     1 Corinthians 12:4-11

Whatever talents you have, they were given to you by God, to be used for God.
To me, that seems a little bit terrifying. Here I am, with this little gift of something that I can do pretty well, and God wants me to use it to further His kingdom. Little ole me? Really? Lacey Beth? The one who has sinned countless times. The one who deserves death and hell? The one who feels completely and totally inadequate?
Yes. He wants to use you and the talents he has given you.
Right now you may be thinking, "Well once I get my act together I can do that."     "Once I finish school I can do that."    "Once I get married, I can do that."      "Once I get deeper in my walk with Christ, I can do that."

Well here's the thing...God didn't call you for tomorrow. Heck, you are not promised tomorrow. And neither am I. So what we need to do is pinpoint the gifts he has given us, and get out there and serve. Today.

So here's the deal. God loves you. He loves you so much that he wants you to be a part of this awesome kingdom work he is doing. How awesome is that?? He could do it all completely on His own, but He desires for us to be in on the action...and in the process, see his heart more clearly. You begin to see the world through His eyes. You begin to desire what He desires! Little by little, you give away of your old self. A little piece at a time, and then, all of a sudden, you're a new creation! But you were so busy getting to know the lover of your soul that you didn't even realize that your old self was passing away.

However, He never said that it would be easy. The more you give of yourself away, the more you have to rely on Him to give you strength and wisdom. The more you rely on Him, the more you fall in love with him. The more you fall in love with Him, the sweeter life gets.

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Lacey Beth

  1. If we were staying close to each other I would love to go on a coffee date with you and talk about that. You would talk to me about your calling and fear and I would do the same. I feel like this is the kind of stuff Christian should not be affraid to talk with one another because we ALL feel inadequate.
    Have a nice day !!
