Life Thoughts

Sooooo college started yesterday. I am excited, yet nervous all at the same time.
I want to do well, yet at the same time, I don't know how I'll ever convince myself to like microbiology or history or oral communication. To be completely honest with y'all, I would love to be using that time to study scripture. Something worthwhile and meaningful. Something that I have a huge passion for. Something that has eternal benefits. We only have a little time on this earth. I'd rather be studying about my Savior. However, this is where God has me and I will do my best to apply what I am learning to bring Him glory through what I learn.

I am learning patience and trust.
I know what God has called me to do with my life, but I don't have the exact map on how to do it...I thought I did, but I don't have the resources to go about doing what I thought needed to be done. So, I am waiting and trusting.
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
-Colossians 4:2

I will pray for it, I will watch for it, and I will thank Him every step of the way. Because that is what He has called us to.

Something else that has been weighing heavy on my heart is my lack of memorization of scripture. He instructs us again and again to "store up his word in our hearts" (psalm 119:11// Job 22:22)  Honestly, why have I not obeyed in this part of my life?? Its in these times where I think "Seriously Lacey? What is wrong with you. "
So Matthew and I have decided to memorize scripture and quiz each other on it. BOOM. Accountability. And it's working out great!

What have you been learning?

xoxo,
Lacey Beth

  3. Good Luck on school. I love this verse. I'm starting a new thing in September on memorizing a new verse each month for a year, and hopefully longer!!
