Wedding Wednesday: My Bridesmaids

Wedding Wednesday: Volume 3

One of the things I was most excited about was getting to ask the bridal party to bridesmaids. How cool is it that the people who have stuck with you through the good and the bad are going to stand by you on your wedding day?! When they are standing by your side it's like they're saying "hey, I'm going to be with you every step of the way in this new life stage you're about to enter." I love my precious friends who are more like sisters to me. We've grown up in so many ways together!

Allow me to introduce to you, MY BRIDESMAIDS!
I've literally known these girls since birth.
(Sorry in advance...these are all camera phone pictures)

Matron of Honor: Dollie Jones. My sweet sweet mama. She has always been my best friend! We do everything together and would always rather together  than apart. She is really the only one who understands me. She knows my passions, dreams, and goals, and encourages me every step along the way. She is the one who has been my biggest fan, and has only pushed me to be better. I couldn't imagine anyone else who I would want to stand right by my side as I make a lifelong commitment with the man I love.

Maid of Honor: Emilee Barclay.
Now let me tell you a little about Emilee and I's relationship. We are so opposites! For example, she loves horror movies, I am terrified. She once took me to a horror movie to which I brought a blanket to cover my eyes and ears...but as if that wasn't enough I left "to go to the bathroom" for about half of the movie. My stomach must has been really messed up, huh? She also likes blood---I pass out. But through our opposites, we have become the best of friends throughout the years. Whether we are getting boy advice from each other or talking about our faith, Emilee and I have always stuck together.
Emilee's family and my family are best friends. Our parents met in their newlywed class! How cool is that?

Bridesmaid: Bailey Hilliard
Bailey has always been like my little sister. I'm pretty protective over her and would seriously damage someones face if they ever hurt her. Somewhere along the way I gave her the nickname "Bails" ...don't know why. Bails of hay?? Just kidding :) This past summer Bailey and I got to go to Destin together! On that trip we biked allllllllll the way down 30A. If you know how long that is you should know why we were pretty impressed with ourselves! And proceeded to eat a whole tub of hummus after a LONG shower.I love our adventures. Bailey and I's families are also friends, her parents were in that newlywed class too! All three of our families did a lot of stuff together.

Bridesmaid: Morgan Whaley
Morgan and I have been friends since nursery at Broadmoor Baptist and grew up together learning about Christ (what better way is there to form a friendship?) We were in constant choir performances and plays together. We even fought once about who should be called "Ruth" as a nickname. Hey, at least it was biblical fighting! Just kidding again :) We parted ways in highschool but were still good friends. When college started and we went to the same University, we became accountability partners. And we still are! I love Morgan so much. We can talk about anything together and not be judged. I'm super thankful for her.

Basically, the only girls I asked to be my bridesmaids were the ones who have been there for me from the start. The ones who have gone through every stage of life with me and still haven't given up on me...cause trust me, I was hard to deal with sometimes. (Anyone else put on their sassy pants sometimes??)  I cannot wait to spend time with these girls planning the best day ever. And I can't wait to be there for them when that big day comes and they find the love of their lives. We have all grown together, and I hope we all grow old being best friends!

Here is a sneak peak of how I asked the girls. That post will be for next week!

xoxo,
Lacey Beth

  1. Quite informative post on bridesmaid event. Few weeks ago, I arranged my brother’s wedding reception at one of amazing wedding venues NYC. Booked this venue through internet at discounted price and arranged a grand party there.
