I Want To Tell You Something

Hey you.
Yes, you.
Don't assume I am talking about anyone else.
I want to tell you something.

Under the shelter of our Savior's wings...
You are so CAPABLE to handle today.
You are so STRONG.
You are so WHOLE.
You are so PURE.
You are so READY to handle today.
You are ready to FIGHT the battle.
You are prepared to WIN the war of today.(Proverbs 21:31)

You are going to go out into the world CONFIDENTLY, because you know Who goes before you.

You don't have to be perfect.
Jesus took away the need to be perfect when He died on that cross.
SO, stop trying to be perfect!!!
The important thing is that you spend that precious time with Jesus, and put on your armor.

The Lord has sustained you another day because He has a purpose for you today. He has allowed you to wake up this morning, because He has created you to bring Him glory & worship & praise.

He has created you to smile at perfect strangers. To sing loudly of His faithfulness in the car. To give the biggest hugs EVER-& to not let go even when it gets awkward (everyone needs that kind of lovin). To call someone up-just to say hello. To send a handwritten letter.

He has called you to pray fervently, always be filled with joy, and to thank Him constantly. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

He has made you BEAUTIFUL
And that's just what you are.

Go and face the world on this beautiful Monday.
Be BRAVE, be CONFIDENT, be BEAUTIFUL.

Lace

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday friends!
I love Mondays because it means a fresh start.
A tabula rosa - clean slate.

I wanted to share a little bit about my weekend on this beautiful day!
It was a very relaxing weekend. Saturday night, Matthew and I made bruschetta together, watched a movie, and sat on the balcony while I worked on some blog stuff. (He's so sweet to sit with me while I'm focused on codes and such..what a keeper.)

Sunday was my favorite part of the weekend. My sweet friends from church just came back from Nicaragua and shared their testimonies. They even sang "Oceans" in English/Spanish. They learned it to sing for the people of Nicaragua. Seriously gave me goosebumps.

I couldn't stay for all of it because I went to help in the nursery with my mom, but would you just look at that sweet baby who fell asleep in my arms?! So precious!

After church my mom and I had some girl time. We went to the flea market, the mall, and thrifting at Goodwill. I wish we had gotten a picture together! I need more pictures with her. I have more fun with my mama than anyone. She just "gets" me! I love the friendship we share.

When I came home Matthew and I went for a walk with Lucy. She loves her little walks! A few years ago she broke her leg, and the only she could get around was if we bought her a doggy stroller...so we did! a cute pink doggy stroller. (Matthew is pushing it in above right picture). People mistake the stroller for a baby stroller at times and are mighty surprised when a bark comes out! :)
I love these long walks where we talk, and dream. It's refreshing to be away from our phones and only focused on each other, and the beauty of God's creation surrounding us. There's nothing better!

My verse for this weekend was Proverbs 20:5. I'm going to write a post about it tomorrow.

"The purpose of a man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out."

Summer Vacay

Destin, Florida
Oh how I love you.
I did not love that you have a whole bunch of biting flies though.
All-in-all, you were great. I loved your salty air, sea breeze, sandy beaches, and adorable pastel-colored beach houses. I loved waking up early doing yoga next to the vast ocean and walking your sandy shore watching the sunset. I loved reading book after book under the hot sun and looking for seashells. You truly did give me a relaxing time. A time to get away and relax. A time to eat fresh crab to my hearts content and ride bikes on 30A till my legs go numb.
I absolutely loved spending some quality time with my family and an amazing friend who I call my "little sister" who I've known since birth.
I'm about to post a million pictures so bear with me :)

Missing Charlie!

Nothing but love for my sweet parents.

Daddy dancing with me on the beach :)

We didn't make this..but its definitely on the to-do list for next time!

(Not-so-little) little sister!

Best Friends since we were babies.

Daddy doing what he loves! (he cooks DELICIOUS food)

Dinner :)

Bike loaded down for the beach!

Outdoor movie at the campsite!
Can you spot Lucy?

Pier fun!

Coffee link up with Jenna & Jenna

Today I was going to write a post about my vacation, but the fact that I still haven't unpacked everything made me change my mind. I know, I know...PROCRASTINATOR. That's what I am and I am owning up to it! I cant seem to write about something when the remnants of all I have to do is all over my room.

So today I am linking up with Jenna from Dearest Love & Jenna from A Mama Collective for another coffee date.
I love coffee dates. Virtual and real life. My favorite part about this beautiful life is sharing it with the people around me. The good and the bad! The fact is, none of us could make it on our own, and we're not supposed to. We have each other to lean on and to turn to when we need prayer, or just someone to talk to!

Today in this link up we are talking about our highs and lows from this week.

Highs:
There have been a bunch of highs from this week!

1. Matthew and I picked blueberries in Nesbit Mississippi! That was so much fun. My mom made this AMAZING bunt cake out of the fresh blueberries.

2. Finally got to hangout with the sweet middle school girls from church :)

3. Spent some much needed quiet moments with the Lord. I had slacked off on vacation while we had so many things going on.

4. This week I have been really trying to focus on the 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 which says to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances.

5. Matthew and I rode our bikes ALL over Bartlett. Since we rode our bikes down 30A I wanted to keep the exercise up when we got home. We rode to McAlister's for dinner and then went to see my best friend. It was fun! Now we want to make it a weekly tradition!
6. I got my hair redone! Yay! I love it. And my sweet hairdresser who did it :)

Looking like Lucy...Don't judge! :)

selfie central..I know.

Lows:

1. Realized that Matthew and my Mama are going back to work in a couple weeks :( This summer has flown by!

2. Going back to number four on my highs, I have also counted this as a low. The more I consciously try to live in this way, the more I realize how flawed I really am. I didn't realize how much I complained or caught myself in a bad attitude when I should have just been giving thanks.

3. A guy trying to sell straighteners in the mall told me my hair is frizzy...so theres that.

All in all, it has ben such an amazing week. I am so thankful for everything God has provided me with and I cant take credit for any of it. He has been teaching me things and has had so much patience with me that I am so undeserving.

But really, I want to hear about you! How has your week been?
How are you really?

Birthday Recap

This weekend was the absolute best. It was like a dream! I don't think the fun we had could ever be replicated. And let me just say, every single person in my family is my best friend. We have the best time whenever we're together, and I'm not just saying that to make us look good to everyone else. It's the truth! My only wish is that my sweet aunt Lisa could have been there! I have always looked up to her so much.
To start out the day, Matthew surprised me with breakfast. (When you're not married and still dating, just eating breakfast together at the table is almost as good breakfast in bed. ) it was strawberries in the shape of a heart with bananas inside. So good! He also showed up at my door with a big bouquet of roses! So gorgeous :) I'm so thankful for that thoughtful man.
After breakfast we met my friend Emilee at the local farmers market and bought kale, yellow cauliflower, peaches, and homemade pickles! It was so good to start the day outside!

Afterwards we went and ate lunch at Red Robin, then headed over to Barnes & Noble. Matthew bought  "Radical Together" by David Platt and "Screwtape Letters" by C. S. Lewis. (We both love to read and free-write). He just kept asking if there was a book I wanted and I mentioned "The Nesting Place". We looked around for a bit but when we couldn't find it I just said that it really didn't matter, and that I could read one of his. Since I insisted that I didn't want a new book, he proceeded to checkout and I went to the ladies room. (I know that that is T. M. I. but it'll play into this in a second). We got in the car and were at a red light when Matthew said "hey look what I got..." And he pulled out "The Nesting Place"!! He had run to the information desk and asked them to help him find it and checked out all before I had come out of the bathroom. It makes me laugh to think about it because he must have been running through the store since it honestly doesn't take me that long to go to the bathroom!! (Haha)
After the bookstore we headed to the cutest/best/most favorite coffee place in town called Otherlands. Seriously the bomb.com. Does anyone even say that anymore?! I do :) Matthew ordered an iced vanilla coffee, and I ordered an iced caramel latte. Best coffee in town. Hands down. We spent about 2 hours there reading books. Perfectly dreamy.

Next,my handsome man( who insisted we do all my favorite things on my birthday) took me thrifting. He's my dream guy. What can I say? I'm in love.
When we finally arrived home, we got ready and headed out with my mama, daddy, granny, Charlie, and his girlfriend Stephanie. We went to Las Delicias (aka best guacamole in town).

When we returned home, my mama had the cutest little party room set up. A few things I love about having a kindergarten teacher as a mom, is that she knows how to throw a party, no one ever really grows up, and she always makes each person feel extra special. She really made me feel extra special on Saturday:)
She ordered a Muddy's cake which was strawberry with cream cheese rosette icing. mmmmm. I'm eating a leftover piece of birthday cake as I type this...

She bought some $5 Lilly Pulitzer napkins to tie in all the colors and it was a dream party. Seriously my mama should be featured in a magazine. Just look at the way she throws together a perfect party only using the resources she already has! All she bought was a cake and some napkins. The rest was around the house.

It's Lucy's day too! I got her 7 years ago on my twelfth birthday.

My Aunt Lisa did this card, Isn't she so cute? And this is just one of the cute ways she wraps presents. Every celebration she has a new super cute way of decorating gifts.

I am so thankful for the people who made me feel loved on Saturday. I know some people may think that everyone in our family went over the top, but our family looks for reasons to celebrate. And I think that that is what life is, one big celebration :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Lace

P.s. If you're reading this daddy, we really need to take more pictures together. I'm sad I don't have one of us together from this day! Love you Daddio

First Blog Post

YAY! My very first blog post after Victoria of Happily Ever Strader designed my blog! Can I just say that she is AWESOME! I told her exactly what I had dreamed up in my head for this blog and she made it come to life! She also has encouraged me so much just by being herself. She has a way of making you feel special when she really doesn't even know you. That's a character quality that I want to have! But seriously, y'all should go check her out.

I just want to start off this blog by listing some goals for it:

1. I want everything said on this blog to bring glory to Christ. I truly believe that even though social media has been a place where sin and worldliness has taken over, that it can be used for God's glory and to draw people closer to Him.
2. I want this to be a place of transparency. I don't want to pretend that I have it all together on here or make anyone else think that they need to either.
3. I want to meet other people pursuing the Lord.

These are my simple goals for this blog! I hope you stick around!
